How to make a football squares board

To make a football squares board, draw a 10×10 grid (100 squares) and put one team along the top and the other down the side. Sell all 100 squares first, then randomly assign a digit from 0 to 9 to each row and column. At the end of each scoring period, the last digits of the score pick the winner.
Step 1: Draw the 10×10 grid
Make a grid of 100 squares — ten across and ten down. Write one team's name along the top (the columns) and the other down the left side (the rows). Leave the number headers blank for now.
Step 2: Sell the squares
Have buyers write their name in the squares they claim, or record who bought each one. Keep selling until the grid is full — the fairer the draw later, the more it matters that the numbers aren't on the board yet.
Step 3: Assign the numbers (after selling)
Once every square is taken, randomly assign a digit from 0 to 9 to each row and each column. Do it openly, or use a method people can verify — never fill the numbers in before the squares are sold.
Step 4: Track scores and pay winners
At the end of each scoring period, take the last digit of each team's score and find the square where they meet — that's the winner. Pay the prize for that period.
